Anger Management

Anger is a natural emotion that every human being experiences. It is the normal response to irritation, conflict, and displeasure. Anger may also be a secondary emotion experienced as the result of feeling lonely, scared or frustrated. However, it is not just a mental state. Anger also generates a physical response in the body. It is part of the body’s fight or flight response to a real or perceived danger or threat.

As an emotion, anger is a normal and healthy part of life that does not need to be “cured.” However, the inability to manage responses to anger can result in acts of aggression, such as: yelling, throwing things, or even harming another human being. These are learned behaviors and we believe that more healthy responses can be learned over time.

If you are ready to take steps toward controlling your anger, please call Waterstone Counseling Center today and we will connect you with a counselor that can help you achieve this goal.
